I.R.I.S is a project created by Jacksepticeye that was first announced in May 2022.

General

Not much information is currently given or shared, except teasers which are posted to the official twitter account (@IRIStwt_) and Jack himself announcing having finished filming on August 21st, 2022.

On October 31st, 2022, Jack live streamed the first part titled "THE IRIS PROJECT" involving his ego characters. On the same day, he released a shortened version of Chase Brody's interview.

Timeline

In May 2022, a twitter account (@IRIStwt_) was created, posting teasers.
On August 12th, Jack revealed he was travelling to L.A.
On August 14th, he posted (and later deleted) on his twitter that filming was taking longer than anticipated.
On August 19th, he posted a picture of the script.
On August 21st, filming was wrapped up and a trailer was dropped.
On October 31st, a live stream had premiered.

A.L.T.R reports

A.L.T.R 5914

Not much is currently known about A.L.T.R 5914 or where it originally came from. The old records of how it arrived at IRIS were lost in [REDACTED]

What is known is that time moves slower around the object and this dilation increases the closer you get. Contact with the item has proven impossible, even on an Atomic scale.

Scientists who have interacted with it have noted that any part of them to enter the sphere of influence around it, becomes difficult to control and [REDACTED] Therefore mechanical interaction only is advised to avoid bodily harm.

So far A.L.T.R 5914 has not proven malicious. It is under keen observation in the containment center and will remain there under further study until more information can be ascertained from it.

Let’s talk about IRIS

On November 1st, 2022, Jack live streamed on Twitch^[1] discussing his aforementioned project, sharing the below details:

The live stream was originally planned for seven days, not three hours. The original idea was that each day, the viewers would attempt to “hack” into I.R.I.S’s security through completing puzzles resulting in a snippet of Chase, but Jack figured that people would get bored and decided to make it less time.
The ending was intended as a cliffhanger, with more story and lore due to come, with I.R.I.S as a set up towards an overarching storyline.
- Jack wanted the viewers to figure out details instead of sharing answers straight away.
He wants to make a website specifically for I.R.I.S.
The project took six months, with the puzzle sections in the stream made in game development, and the live action scenes filmed over three days.
Mark was assistant director, with Jack as the main producer/director.
Jack received a gift from Ethan "CrankGameplays" Nestor in the form of a clapperboard to commemorate. Ethan also participated behind the scenes.
He dissected each Chase Brody interview:
- The first part (October 18th, 2019) Jack explained that A.L.T.R is an acronym and is related to the ego-verse (1:23:14 - 1:23:59). He did not realize the Dr. Hopkins assessment was real; the Dr. Hopkins assessment in I.R.I.S is fictional and is unrelated to the real life assessment (1:25:14 - 1:26:58).
- The second part (October 19th, 2019) (1:30:26 - 1:32:27) he explained there was an idea for one camera angle (top down perspective) and an on screen heart rate monitor depicting Chase’s heart rate to see his discomfort and if he is lying or telling the truth. The questions asked are from various tests (1:34:56 - 1:35:43).
